How safe are our children on the internet?
The internet has become a growing communications method for children and now has access to 95 percent of these children in the UK alone.
Within the year 2010 there have been over 97 cases of abuse to children on the internet. This has included; cyber bullying, online friends and false uploading.
Voice over: Speech from Bert Jones, 'cyber bullying is something which is growing in the uk...''
With online social networking sites, child abuse has grown more than 9 percent since the year 2001 with 4 percent of these being online pedophiles approaching vunreable children online according to figures produced by the online protection agency, therefore leaving us to ask the question; ''are my children safe on the internet?''
Voice over: Semar Jolly speech, ''police are unable to attack online peodphiles..''
HCCTV invites you to explore into the question ''can we protect and monitor children online'' and if so ''will children always be safe online?''
Tune in to HCCTV on march the 5th at 8pm to watch ''Child Internet Safety'' and help answer, ''are children safe on the internet?''

What Channel could my documentary been shown on?

Proposal
Topic:
After a few mixed idea, our group decided to base our documentary on internet safety as it is something we felt was becoming more and more recognised in the public eye not only by people our own age, but also by children younger than us. We decided to base it on social networking sites such as facebook and myspace whilst also questioning our audience on this.
The documentary itself gave an in-depth explanation of the child safety in 2010 and the risks that the internet can hold. The whole point of the documentary was to aim it at children who use the intenet and their parents in order to inform them of the risks and the action that can be taken, in order to ask ''Are children safe in this age of technology''.
In order to gather inormation and help progress an answer, we looked into people related with the question such as police workers, teachers and our own target audience.
Key facts That will be researched and explained:
The growing number of children with access to the internet which is not monitored by Parents or Guardians.
The amount of people on social networking sites posing to be children/ paedophiles.
Legislation protecting children/adults on the internet.
Monitors in place on social networking sites like Facebook, Myspace etc.
Speakers include:Police Officer
Parent/Guardian
Member of Parliament
Child protection agencies
Teacher
Group Roles
Emmanuel Olobio - Cameraman
Billy Camden - Director
Emma Jolly - Sound
Reiss Ramsay - Editor Are children safe in this age of technology?

Group roles (Emma Jolly)
Within our group the roles include; director, editor, sound engineer and camera man.
My role in the group is sound engineer, this role includes making sure sound is effective and correct in order to give the documentary its full effect. Also this role includes choosing the correct music and sound effects that are placed into the documentary during such moments as cutaways.
Also my final job was to pick the narrator for out documentary as the formal language and sound of voice was something that needed to fit in with the idea of the documentary.
The idea of the documentary is child safety whist on the Internet and i plan to take my role seriously in the group.
